Hi, there! My name is Sydney Isaacs and I am originally from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. I attended Bucknell University, where I earned my Bachelor of Science in Civil & Environmental Engineering. After graduation, I worked at AECOM as a Wastewater Engineer for a year before transferring within the company to Charlotte, North Carolina. At AECOM, I worked on a variety of water and wastewater infrastructure projects. I have also lead a team of eight people for an environmental quality assurance effort on a natural gas pipeline project. After AECOM, I spent time at HDR in Charlotte working on a local city water infrastructure project in utility management services.

During my 6 years as an engineer, I discovered my passion for fine dining and luxury wines. I launched my blog, Wholesomm, and developed a brand focused on sustainable, whole food-centered recipes with expert wine pairings. My goal from the start has been to exemplify that sustainability and luxury can – and should – be merged when it comes to food & wine. Throughout this journey, I have earned my WSET Level 2, partnered with brands to develop sponsored blog content, and worked alongside an Advanced Sommelier as a hostess at a restaurant in Charlotte. The restaurant, Supperland, was just named one of Bon Appetit’s Top 10 Best New Restaurants in 2022.

My passion for food goes beyond fine dining and into the social issues of food security and nutrition. While in Charlotte, I spent 2 years on the board of a non-profit called The Bulb Gallery, whose mission is to provide relief to underserve neighborhoods in the greater Charlotte area through mobile produce markets. During my final year on the board, I served as Board President and successfully facilitated a fundraising partnership between The Bulb and Supperland. A cocktail designed specifically for The Bulb by Supperland’s mixologists was added to the menu and a percentage of the proceeds was donated to the organization.

Today, I am an MBA candidate at SDA Bocconi in Milan, Italy. I intend to earn my graduate degree with a concentration in Luxury Brand Management in December 2023.
